What this is
Meridian Dreamland is a first-person game set in Chihuahua and Sonora in 1849 and 1850. You are the Kid. You ride with the Glanton gang, a company of American scalp hunters paid by the Mexican state. It follows Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian from Tennessee to Fort Griffin.
It looks like a game from 1998: wobbling polygons, warm fog, a worn VHS tape, faces like photographs on big box heads. Every place you arrive greets you with a card. The cards stay calm whatever the company does there.
You carry a Colt Walker and load each of its six chambers by hand. You can refuse your part in what the company does. The game keeps count of that, and of everything else.
